The Cosmic Wink lives somewhere between a journal, a meditation, a raised eyebrow and a very human attempt to make sense of being alive.
Some Winks begin with something that arrives in meditation. Some come from conversations, observations, things happening in the world, or moments in my own life that make me stop and think. Others are simply the ridiculous contradictions of being a spiritual human trying to navigate Earth life.
I don’t create them to tell anyone what to believe. They’re invitations to look again at ourselves, at each other, at the stories we’ve inherited, and at some of the things we’ve collectively decided are ‘normal’, given labels to and learned to live with, even when we don’t particularly like them.
“Sometimes laughter gets through the door before wisdom does.”
The artwork is created with AI as a creative tool, with every idea, character, message and creative direction shaped by me. It is intentionally imperfect, occasionally irreverent and always open to interpretation.
Faith often uses herself in The Cosmic Wink because somebody has to volunteer for the sketch. Not everything you see happened to me exactly as drawn. Some of it didn’t happen to me at all. Some Winks begin with something I’ve experienced, noticed, thought about or laughed at. There is often a little thread of truth somewhere in the joke, just not always where you think.
Have a laugh. Have a think. Keep what lands, leave what doesn’t, and perhaps notice when the universe gives you a little wink back.
